About
Project Overview
The Global Individual Investor Financial Beliefs and Preferences Survey (FINGIPS) is a comprehensive research project examining how individual investors around the world make financial decisions.
We conducted a large-scale survey across 26 countries, representing close to two-thirds of the world’s population and more than three-quarters of global GDP. The survey collected responses from approximately 30,000 individuals, including both general population samples and active investors in about equal parts.
The survey was conducted online through professional survey service providers from mid-November 2025 to early January 2026. In each country, we collected responses from approximately 1,000 individuals, including a general population sample (representative by key demographics) and an equal-sized sample of active investors.
The questionnaire covered investment preferences, risk attitudes, financial literacy, beliefs about sustainable investing, tax knowledge, and demographic information.
Data collection was financially supported by the Research Council of Finland and the OP Pohjola Research Foundation, which is gratefully acknowledged.
